For Tibetans, Everest remains a spiritual absolute.
Ladder to Paradise is the story – filmed over two years with unparalleled access – of the lives, aspirations and desires of a group of young Tibetans, the children of herdsman in their training to be guides for Everest. This is a spiritual as well as physical journey.
It is the stories of young Tibetans coming of age, their lives in remote villages, their dreams in a rapidly changing society. Their unique journeys are a part of Tibet's future.
At its heart Ladder to Paradise is a unique picture of the struggles that face modern Tibet.
